Carnival Cruise Line
Venezia
Leaving: Port Canaveral
March 15, 2026

Carnival Venezia is a cruise ship operated by Carnival Cruise Line. It was originally built for Costa Cruises and launched in 2019 as Costa Venezia in Shanghai. At the time, it was the largest ship in Costa’s fleet and could carry over 4,200 passengers.
In 2023, after changes in the cruise industry following COVID-19, the ship was moved to Carnival. It was updated, renamed Carnival Venezia, and introduced as part of a new “Carnival Fun Italian Style” experience. This concept blends Carnival’s fun atmosphere with Italian-inspired design and features.
The ship officially began sailing for Carnival in May 2023 as part of a new group of ships inspired by Venice.

I decided to arrive a day early to relax and explore the area before my ship tour the next day—and it turned out to be the perfect decision.
I stayed at SpringHill Suites by Marriott Cocoa Beach, and the experience started off great right at check-in. I was able to check in early and was welcomed back with water, cookies, and a helpful map of the area highlighting local restaurants, shopping spots, and transportation options. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which set the tone for the entire stay.
The hotel itself was comfortable and well-equipped, with a nice pool and an on-site bar—perfect for unwinding. The room was spacious and cozy, making it a great option for cruise travelers. It’s especially ideal for clients interested in a “park and cruise” package, which makes the whole process even more convenient.
Later, I headed over to Merritt Island, which is right next door. At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect—it seemed pretty quiet—but once I drove a little farther, the area really opened up. There were plenty of familiar restaurants and stores, along with some classic tourist stops like Ron Jon Surf Shop and Surf Style.
After exploring, I headed back to the hotel and spent some time at the bar enjoying a drink and winding down for the night—an easy, relaxing end to a great pre-cruise day.

Upon arrival, we were instructed to park in employee parking, and the process couldn’t have been easier. Going through security was smooth and efficient, and we were quickly escorted to a VIP lounge where we waited comfortably for the BDM to arrive.
Shortly after, the BDM joined us along with a group of fellow travel agents—about 15 in total. It was a small group, which made for an ideal touring experience. With fewer people, it was much easier to move through the ship, ask questions, and really take in all the details.
We began our tour on the top deck, where we had the opportunity to view several stateroom categories while enjoying a great perspective of the ship from above. From there, we worked our way down deck by deck, exploring additional staterooms along with a variety of public spaces.
This approach gave a well-rounded view of the ship’s layout and amenities, making it easy to understand how guests experience the ship from embarkation to their time onboard.

Terrazza Staterooms
Terrazza staterooms on Carnival Venezia stand out from standard cabins thanks to their unique location, design, and exclusive perks. These aft-facing rooms, located on decks 5 through 9, feature elegant Italian-inspired décor that reflects the ship’s Venice theme. What really sets them apart is access to the private Terrazza Carnevale outdoor deck—an exclusive area reserved just for Terrazza guests. This space offers a more relaxed, less crowded atmosphere, similar to the Havana experience found on other Carnival ships. Additionally, Terrazza staterooms are designated for guests ages 12 and older, creating a quieter, more upscale environment that’s ideal for travelers looking for a more refined onboard experience.Terrazza Cabana (Cabin 5204) (Category TE) (Promenade Deck):

After touring the various stateroom categories, we shifted our focus to the ship’s public areas, which really brought the onboard experience to life. Walking through the different decks, we explored everything from dining venues and lounges to entertainment spaces, getting a true sense of how guests can spend their time onboard.

As we continued exploring, one space stood out as a true escape from the ship’s lively energy—the Serenity Retreat. Tucked away from the busier decks, this adults-only haven offered a completely different atmosphere, designed for relaxation and quiet. With its comfortable loungers, calming ambiance, and uninterrupted ocean views, it quickly became clear why this area is considered one of the ship’s most sought-after highlights.
There’s a hidden escape tucked away aboard every Carnival Cruise Line ship—one that many first-time cruisers don’t fully appreciate until they step into it themselves. It’s called the Serenity Adult-Only Retreat, and for me, it’s become a must-visit every single voyage.
At first glance, you might think, “How relaxing can it really be when it’s on the same ship as waterslides, music, and nonstop activity?” But that’s the magic of Serenity—it feels worlds away from it all. The moment you walk in, the atmosphere shifts. The noise fades. The pace slows. And suddenly, you’re in a space designed entirely for calm.
Soft sea breezes drift through rows of loungers and swaying hammocks. The ocean stretches endlessly in front of you. There’s no rush, no pressure, no distractions—just time. Time to reconnect with your partner, to dive into a book you’ve been meaning to finish, or to simply sit still and let yourself do absolutely nothing.
What makes it even better is that this peaceful oasis doesn’t cost extra. It’s completely free and included with your cruise. No reservations, no hidden fees—just a quiet space waiting for you whenever you need a break from the buzz. Photos might give you a glimpse, but they can’t capture the feeling. Serenity isn’t just a place—it’s an experience. And once you find it, you’ll keep coming back.

LUNCH TIME
After taking in the peaceful atmosphere of the Serenity Retreat, we made our way to lunch—another highlight of the experience and a perfect way to wrap up the tour. It gave us a chance to relax, reflect on everything we had seen, and connect with the other agents in our group.
The Canal Grande Restaurant it is known for its Venetian-inspired decor, which features a large, authentic-looking, and decorative gondola in the center of the restaurant.
Lunch also provided a great opportunity to experience the dining firsthand, which is always an important part of understanding the overall guest experience. Between the food, the service, and the atmosphere, it really tied everything together.
With that, our tour came to a close. It was a well-paced, insightful experience from start to finish, giving a comprehensive look at both the accommodations and public spaces—while also showcasing what makes the ship such a great option for a variety of travelers.
I hope you all enjoyed our visit on Carnival Venezia and stay tuned for more visits with Maraloha Travel!
